Suspicious activity on the East Periférico
National Guard soldiers were on patrol in the East Periférico road when they spotted a possible crime in progress.
When they arrived at the scene, they found an object covered in blankets. Upon closer examination they located 17 bundles of marijuana wrapped in transparent tape.

What is a Periférico
Periféricos are roads or highways that traverse the outside periphery of a city in Mexico.
The West Periférico of Nogales, Mexico, also known as Bulevar Luis Donaldo Colosio, starts at the vehicular entry from the Mariposa Port of Entry and passes through industrial and commercial districts before connecting with Avenida Obregon, which becomes Mexico highway 15.
The East Periférico
The East Periferico is a road in the southeast area of Nogales that starts at the intersection of highways 15 and 15D (near the airport) and continues into a residential area of Nogales, near a military installation.
It is not clear whether there are drug interdiction efforts at the very small Nogales, Mexico airport.
