Nogales Mexico Tourism Districts
Avenida Obregon is the main north-south thoroughfare in the Nogales border tourism district.
The Obregon district begins one block north of the border wall at the corner of Calle Campillo and extends for several blocks to the south on Avenida Obregon. In fact, Obregon is the main Nogales downtown business district that has miles of local businesses beyond the border tourism zone.
The avenue is a very comfortable place for a stroll among the curio shops, restaurants, pharmacies, plazas and of course, dentist offices. And yes, this is where you can get your picture taken with a burro.
In the blocks closest to the border you can find the Medical and Dental Office Building, Café Sinaloa, the offices of Nogales Dental Advanced and just past the Idolo Curios store you can stop for a rest on a park bench at Plaza Pestalozzi.
Farther past the Nogales border tourism district you can find the Nogales Palacio Municipal (city hall) and the Teatro Auditorio de Nogales, an auditorium and performing arts venue, and the Qahwah House, an offbeat coffee house that features poetry, art and music, and is especially popular with the young Nogales crowd.
